Winter Paris Outfits

I’m so excited that I got to spend my 25th birthday in Paris! I NEVER do anything extravagant for my birthday, so this trip kinda spoiled me! I’m gonna gush a little bit about how lucky I am to have such an amazing husband/travel buddy! I always ask him “where do you want to go next?” and His response is always– “I don’t care you pick”. He’s always up for anything–whether its a 30 hour flight across the world, a week hiking trip, or a road trip living in a van! I was so hesitant about bringing up a trip to Paris because I always assumed Paris isn’t high on many guys bucket lists, but He ended up LOVING it! We both did! I wasn’t prepared to love Paris so much, but the combination of amazing food, the architecture, the history, the ease of the public transportation, how everyone looks so put together…everything was kind of amazing!

I’m going to do a separate blog post showing photos of where we visited and things to do, but for this post I wanted to share everything that I PACKED! I’m always a light packer, but going to a fashionable city in the winter was a little difficult to fit into one carry-on bag!

Winter packing tip #1: GET SPACE BAGS!

2 heavy jackets

1 blue jeans

1 black jeans

2 sweaters

3 long sleeves

1 short sleeve (for the flight only!)

1 hefty scarf

2 beanies

1 pair of gloves

3 pairs of shoes: (rain boots, sneakers, heeled booties)

1 handbag

2 sports bras + 5 undies

4 pairs of socks

Along with toiletries and camera equipment including two cameras, hard drive, laptop, external battery, gorilla pod, umbrella, and various accessories.

Winter packing tip #2: Wear your heaviest/largest shoes on the flight.

I brought two hats on this trip but I wish I brought more of a variety for photos (I ended up buying a beret later in the trip!) If you’re heading to Paris in the winter time, don’t forget to pack some warm beanies; cover those ears because its WINDY!

I brought two heavy jackets with me, this black one which is that super poofy material that can shrink down to a tiny size (super handy if you’re only packing in a carry-on) My second jacket is this more fashionable trendy teddy coat. I found this at H&M for only $15!! So excited to experiment with trends and not spend a lot! It was surprisingly super warm, and because it was so thick, when it rained, it kept me 100% dry!

P.S. I felt like such a tourist in this beret!

It rained quite a bit while we were in Paris in January… almost everyday actually! I brought 3 pairs of shoes, my Adidas that I felt could go with any outfit incase my feet started to hurt from all the walking, rain boots for days where it rained ALL day, and a pair of super cute booties. My booties dealt with the rain surprisingly well, and were more fashion forward than rain boots but still comfortable to walk miles in since the heel was so low.

Check out shoetopia for awesome shoes and great prices! Then head over to their IG page for outfit inspiration!

My favorite shoes at the moment are these black booties!

Winter packing tip #3

Pick bulky items (jeans and sweaters) that can mix and match but then make the outfits unique with your accessories (shoes and hats!)

These are great photos! Good for you only taking a single carry on. I struggle with packing too much.

This post hits two things that I love — fashion and travel. I have always wanted to go to Paris and I am still teetering with the idea of going just for a day when I go to London in May.

Great outfits, lovely writing, and beautiful city!
